Only ten applicants will be accepted. Deadline--November 30, 2002. A Los Angeles-based literary management and film production company, Bates Entertainment has produced such films as KINGDOM COME for Fox Searchlight starring Whoopi Goldberg, L.L. Hi, I wanted to draw your attention to www.OneWorldOneMinute.com, a global arts and film project that you may be interested in The concept of the project is a simple one, but offers huge scope for all concerned. We aim to have participants in EVERY country around the globe record, simultaneously, ONE MINUTE of their lives, one minute of our world. The minute can be recorded in a wide range of forms, and on any medium you choose, from stills photography to video, sound cassettes, written word or even drawings, any form at all. We then aim to compile this material into a feature length film which shall seek to capture that one minute of our existence. The finished piece shall explore the rich diversity that is both humanity and our world, whilst allowing a voice to all people regardless of nationality, religion, race, political viewpoint, gender or age. The rich diversity that is Humanity shall be there for all to see and perhaps too, through all our differences, we shall also see that which is inherently human, that which is common to us all. As for the timing of this event, at 12:48 GMT, September 11th 2001 a plane struck the World Trade Centre. This was the first of four such attacks over the next 92 minutes and led to the deaths of more than 2000 people from over 60 different countries. That first attack, and those that followed, as well as the repercussions, have led to immeasurable suffering throughout the world. It is with this in mind that we have chosen 12:48 GMT September 11th 2002, exactly one year after that first attack, as the one minute to record. For many this will be a time of remembrance and reflection and surely there can be no more appropriate time for an international collaboration that is about communication, cooperation and sharing. We hope that you will agree that this is an appropriate moment to preserve a snapshot of the world, to reflect on where we are and where we are going and to offer others an insight into your world and your life. This is the concept behind One World One Minute . We hope that you will see both the potential and the worth in this project and choose to participate. This is your opportunity to share a moment of your life, your world, with others, an opportunity to both talk to and listen to the world, to join with others around the globe and create a truly unique record and experience. note : we currently have participants from - Alaska, Albania, Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Azerbaijan,Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, Chile, China, Congo, Cuba, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Eritrea, Estonia, France, Fiji, Finland, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Hawaii, Holland, Honduras, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Italy, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kashmir, Kenya, Korea- South, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania,Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malawi, Malta, Mexico, Moldavia, Morocco, Namibia, Netherlands, Norway, Nepal, New York City, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Serbia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Togo, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States (many many states), Uruguay, Zambia, Zimbabwe. I am a 16yr male, who loves to act and feels that this is my destiny. Although things so far have not been looking so good I still believe that this was what I was made for. Living in Canada has not mad things any bit easier for me but I still think my time is soon to come. Although I am already attending a school to further enhance my natural acting abilities I have had little opportunites to show what i got. All I need is someone to believe with me and give me a chance. I know they won't regret it. I just want a chance then if I mess up I can say I had the opportunity. Take the risk if u'r looking for someone to play a role that will capture the audience.

I am working on a documentary about Black Female Sexuality in hopes to break the silence surrounding our sexuality. I am seeking women ages 18 and up to participate in a discussion about their sexual experiences. This is not a porno and there will be no nudity. Shadowed lighting for those who perfer. I am also looking for a black female cinematographer and a sound person/assistant to help with the production. Hello, came upon this site pretty strangly; however, I am glad I came here. I tell you, as an older Black Male actor things are tough. Work has not been coming in at all. How are we surviving!? Surprisingly, I do. Let me introduce myself. I am J Emerson McGowan, MS, SAG/AFTRA (sometimes). I live on the east coast near NY and have been acting for over 20 years. HA! every year of my life I have been acting...Anyway, I have talent up the kazoo and can't get past the audition of late...when they DO come around, oh so infrequently. I am good at what I do and have learned and passed on alot to others. It is now my turn...I may be a poor woman's Denzel Washington, but I am good!! Please, Please ( I am not begging here...AHEMMM. But, take a look at my site and some of my voice prints and see if I am right for your role or roles. Folks, I am HOT...and getting hotter. So if you have a project that I would be good for...LET ME KNOW!!! I like to eat...too. I am not your skinny male model type, I am your big (not tooo) big teddy bear who can play any role. I often tell myself when working on my craft. Anything John Hurt can do, I can do too. I can be strong, loud, silent, articulate, not so, intimidating, sinister, loveable, flaming queen, lover, fighter....just let me show you. I can be seen in a variety of film, tv and other projects. You can most recognizably remember me in "Fallen" as the LAST demon passer in the street scene (about 55 min. into the film). I still thank Denzel Washington and the Choreographer of that scence (who escapes me at the moment)and Gregory Hoblit for giving me 10 seconds of face time....It has made me a household face...when it plays on the little screen. NOW, I need to cash it in....so, if you can help me, I most definitely can help you. Bar NONE...so check me out and thanks for reading this far. http://msnhomepages.talkcity.com/DownsizeDr/satori_zen/Actor1.html http://www.backstage.com/casting/view.asp?resume=JEmerson_McGowan

You can most recognizably remember me in "Fallen" as the LASR demon passer in the street scene (about 55 min. into the film). I still thank Denzel Washington and the Coreographer of that scence (who escapes me at the moment)and Gregory Hoblit for giving me 10 seconds of face time....It has made me a household face...when it plays on the little screen. NOW, I need to cash it in....so, if you can help me, I most definitely can help you. Bar NONE...so check me out and thanks for reading this far. I LOVE what Blackfilmmakers.net is all about. Now that I have been made aware of it I will definitely pass the word on to friends who are interested. I am a recent graduate with a B.A. in Film Studies who is looking for a job as a Production Asst. preferably dealing with music videos, but I am flexible. I am really struggling trying to get my foot in the door. It is very hard because no one will give the "new kids on the block" a shot if they do not have such and such time experience. I really need help on how to go about getting the job I want. I am located in Compton, CA near the Los Angeles area. If anyone knows of any opportunities or just has information that would be helpful for me to know...please e-mail me at uwelcj00@umail.ucsb.edu or call me at (310) 635-3164. Thank you all! :)

I am a 25 year old film maker in my final semester of my BFA degree, studying in Chicago. I am currently seeking a screenwriter to create a short, or series of shorts. It should be reality based fiction focused around Afrocentricity and the black experince in American society. Hence it can deal fictionally with problems that face black communities and individuals throughout the country. I will be 100% honest up front, I am a student and I can not afford to pay, but the person who writes the piece will get split credit with me, and a fully produced piece for their portfolio. The selected piece (once produced) will also be entered into film festivals, and any proceeds that are made from it will be delegated equally, and all rights split in the same manner. I believe that the most important step in success, is being able to reach people to be noticed. There is only one manditory stipulation. I support the ideal of giving back to the community. Without community we can never stand as individuals. Therefore 50% of any profits is to be donated to a black charity or organization mutually agreed upon between myself and the chosen screen writer. I really hope to hear from who ever is out there. And I look forward with anticipation. Email: nas_scotland@yahoo.com Phone: (312) 836-1972 (10:00am to 6:30pm central time)

This is a message from Asha Entertainment, we are currently looking for new members, let me tell you more about our Asha. We are at the moment a small independent film company, but not in the old sense, we hope to be as big as the players Fox, Warner, Universal, but doing it with a sense of style adventure and films that will be respected for the new ideas they bring to the silver screen. We aim to produce 3 films a year, they do not have to make a profit it is not about making money, the films will be funded by the members, by a twice yearly subscription of £10, first instalment paid at the start of the year, the other 6 months later. Because we already have 312 members, subscribing twice a year we have an annual budget of £3120 to make our films with, we have already produced two films this year, ‘Robox’ and ‘A Day in the life of 13 28’. Members can submit script ideas and projects, we then submit a script analyses to all our members via e-mail, if a percentage give it the green light over other projects then the film gets made, it doesn’t have to make the money back, but we will try to recoup some sort of profit by entering it in competitions and trying to get it aired, any money which is made is then passed back to members you have the option of taking it or investing it back into the company. Profit made last year was only around £6 a member and most people re-invested it. Besides funding films all our members can submit their CV’s either as actors, directors or any film personal, these will be available on a database either on the net or in our monthly newsletter. Asha entertainment is a new venture set up by two indie film makers, by working together everyone has the chance to work on and be in films, and because we are their for the art and the making and not the money this project should work and is proven to work. We will represent everyone from Shakespearean actors to porn stars, and we will make films from diverse as art house to mainstream popcorn movies, if you wish to join us E-mail Ashinibiza@hotmail.com for registration information. Thanx Mark
